Quill’s Aimee Evan will be presenting at the STATS-DC conference next week on Quill’s development of REL Appalachia’s Virginia Middle School Research Alliance.
In partnership with close to 20 division teams across Virginia, Quill is developing a locally validated Early Warning System (EWS) in Virginia middle schools.
The conference session is geared to share tools related to three research-based foundations necessary for an effective EWS: (1) relevant data and accessible data systems, (2) knowledge and skills for using data, and (3) organizational structures that support data use and ways in which educators can build this capacity.
Participants will learn how we’ve strived to (1) identify and meet current struggling student’s needs; and (2) examine why students are struggling in order to improve the totality of our Alliance division’s education system for future generations.
